The chief is nothing more than a puppet for the communist mayor of the city.

Officer Christopher Manney was terminated to prevent rioting and looting like we're seeing in Ferguson, MO.

I agree.  It's kind of like a company settling a lawsuit out of court.  Cut the losses, they'd spend more on lawyer fees in the long run.  Same thing the City is doing here.

They see firing Manney is a stop-loss kind of move to lessen (in their minds) the impact of him getting probably no billed by the DA.   The protesters can't focus as much on the Police and Flynn because "he doesn't work for us anymore, not our problem, he's fired".

Still a yellow move on their part.

Should have shown more concern for their son, brother, BEFORE  he got shot. Looks like they are wanting a big payday now. Hit a cop, suffer the consequences. Maybe some black Milwaukee cops with balls will step forward. The firing of officer Manney might help with this. Does the Mayor still have a gimpy hand....matches his brain in my opinion. The Police Chief should go back to where he came from, he's completely useless.  Bunch of tools running Milwaukee, the new little Detroit.

Thank God for Sheriff Clark.

i agree...where was the family when he was homeless and on the street?? all of a sudden they all come out of the woodwork...

as far as Chief Flynn he needs to sack up and step up/back his officers...i would not want to work for a boss like that...complete waste of space

So what does a vote of no confidence mean?

It means the cops think Milwaukee is going to turn into the Little Detroit unless they get a new police chief.

Sadly, it's nothing more than a symbolic gesture.

Even though it sends a clear message to the Fire/Police Commission, news media and everyone else in the world that 99.3% of the Milwaukee PD has no confidence in Flynn's ability to lead the department.  Flynn will have his job here as long as Barrett keeps him around or until some other department is stupid enough to pay him even more money.
