So I was doing some reading and it looks as if, the Minute Man project is looking into a Washington operation, to secure the Northern Border. I would think that it would be to curb immigration, but up here more likely to curb transportation of drugs into the country. The question is: If this do come to an actual operation, how many would volunteer time to help out?

I would be willing to partake in such a event, I think The MMP did a better job down south, but anything that the people get behind is all good with me.

As long as Chairborn is not out to shoot me.

Come on don't fuck this thread up too, this is a serious question.

Not fucking anything up, just throwing in a little honest commentary, It is no secret that Law enforcement/Govt at the higher level dont care for Citizens stepping up to the plate, If you want me to just come out and say it I will.

I beleive the CPB person I recently met would appreciate the help at the northern border. I don't think he is allowed to stray from the checkpoint. Perhaps he will put his 2 cents in here.

I agree 100%, the ground guys need all the help they can get. I hope that MigraDog may have a little something to say on this.

I tend to think that our bigger prob here is not herds of Mexicans flowing across the line, but tend to agree that it is more of the drug trafficing...I dont see much in the way of sitting on the line we can do as Im willing to bet most of it comes in by car/truck and we are not Inspecting cars and trucks, I tend to think that the MMP in this area would do better protesting the business's that hire the Illegal's.

You are not going to see the large numbers on the northern side trying to cross the line, that you saw on the southern side...It is going to be a different type of mission..

I suppoert the MMP 100% and will be willing to do what I can.

If the MMP were to get underway here on the northern border and a majority of the illegal traffic coming in from canada is drug traffic.  I can see the MMP being a bit more dangerous for those who choose to participate.  Drug runners tend to start shooting when you try and dissrupt their business.

Better a drug runner shooting at me than Chair...

Never mind, I dont want to Fuck up the topic.

Honestly, I think you are right, You are messing with lots of money in product being disrupted. I dont really know what the situation is up there other than the I-5 routes and the smuggling of Dope, I can see the very small number of trafficing on foot, and the crossing of Illegal's from who all know's where.

I dont remmember where I read it, but there was a member of one of these boards that had the BP putting motion sensors on his land and telling him he could not use his own land...That is not cool buy me. I would much rather see real eyes on if it is that bad...

Like Stickman said, If it is realistic and not a gaggle screw, I will do what I can to help.

up around Mediline falls there is alot of drug related foot trafic, they truck it almost to the boarder on the Canidian side then hump it over the boarder through the woods while the truck is going through the point of entry then they are picked back up on the US side.

they're places all accross our state boarder where you can just walk accross and by the time BP gets there you're long gone.  This is especialy true on the east side of the state where we don't have the population centers close to the boarder.

having said that, I for one wouldn't mind putting a little time in up there with a camera, a radio, and a rifle for my own protection, some body armor wouldn't be amiss either..

The trouble with this is that most of the illegals across the WA/BC border come over through the legal crossings.  It's not the same as the southern border.  This extension of the MMP might as well be at container ports to watch for the odd container bus from China.

As far as drug traffic that is another issue.

Politically, it would go over like a fart in church. Realistically, I believe the rank and file CBP officers would have no problem with it as long as it didn't impede operations.
A good start would be Point Roberts, where there is no Border Patrol presence and only 2 or 3 CPB Officers at the port, where they can't leave. Who knows what is being walked across the borders and then loaded onto boats there. As to the rest of the line from Blaine to out past Sumas, I can't comment, but more eyes would be a good thing. What the Minutemen are doing is a great thing, if for no other reason than raising the awareness level of the public about our open borders.  Another good thing is that is has forced Washinton to do something. There are a lot of Border Patrol Agents on temporary assignments the the area and they are offering bonuses to agent who transfer to the Tucson Sector. We won't be any safer post 9/11 until the borders are secured.

I bear hunt on the border and you would be amazed. BP come out the wood work when you go near the border. I also shoot with alot of BP guys and they are very cool. They agree with the MM. They also verified that the brass down in AZ did give the order to not arrest illigals where the MM were posted after they left. In Lynden there is a ditch that seperates the US from Canada.  A person could jump it. Four wheel drives have been stuck trying to drive through it. Bags can be tossed across it. This is were eyes may be of use.

It sounds like a good idea, but maybe somewhat fruitless. The AZ an TX borders are open country for the most part and a single guy can take up a good position with optics and a radio and monitor an area that is huge, I am wondering just how much border can effectively be contolled by a handful of people in the heavy cover of the west side, east side is a different story.

So truly sad. America is the country with the MOST TO LOSE and the one with the most PATHETIC border controls. Potential terrorists, illegal aliens, drug traffic scumbags laugh at us.
Nobody has the fuckin gonads to say enough is enough. SHOOT FIRST ASK QUESTIONS LATER!
The ACLU, Amnesty International, Liberals, Tree Huggers and all the BS would sue. WTF? Since WHEN is illegal not illegal? Illegal drugs, Illegal aliens, terrorists what is the "issue" I am one who is sick and freakin tired of this shit. Make a national policy that illegal border crossers get shot on sight! You wanna see a drop in crime and drugs? There ya go. Never happen. Bunch of left wing dirtbags in government.

I seriously don't feel a threat from the northern border and if there was I don't feel that a bunch of us on a weekend would do much to change anything.

I am more pissed that my tax dollars are wasted(squandered) elsewhere.  The fact that I pay the neighbor kid to mow my lawn yet every Saturday you want me to volunteer to mow it myself because he is busy stealing shit out of my garage to support his meth habit while I mow it.

‘Minutemen’ gear up for mainstream movement
But squabbles over use of ‘Minuteman’ name could fracture efforts

...
Border watches are scheduled or are in the planning stages for Arizona, California, Texas and New Mexico, Hair said.  “Chris is going to Michigan in a couple of weeks to do a training session there,” she said. “But they’ve also got Idaho and Washington State and Vermont interested. In all they’ve had requests from seven states in the north,”  and new requests “coming in every day.

You want ammonium nitrate?  How much?  I'll bring some a concert truck to the shoot.  No need to sneek it across the border.

Bottom line is when was the last time you saw our northern border?  It is not a vast open desert like AZ.  You are not going to drive there by road and sit in a lawn chair to watch it.

I agree, but if more attention was placed and maybe a few extra drug busts were made, maybe it would do some good.

People who want to get into the US are gonna do get here, but if we don't want them here and the .gov cannot stop them what do we do? Sit back and get overrun? Or do we atleast pretend to care and talk about it.

No not the canadians, but what about the hundreds of thousands of Chinese or Indians that have migrated to Canada, when Canada's quasi-socialist nation starts to stumble where are all of those who left their homes once gonna go..................probably not back home.

The Washington/Canada border is porous and yes most of it is in harsh terrain, but has that stopped the drug trafficers yet? No. Will it stop anyone who wants to get in and should not be let in? No.

Just because the situation is not as nearly as dire as in the south western USA doesn't mean there is not a growing problem.

Some people wont do anything to protect America. Either joining up in the .mil, or actually giving their time to do something like this.

Fear of the unknown, the evil dangerous drug guys, or just "none of my business" attitudes, help allow the borders to remain open, and also give the .gov a pass on handling this through the frontline channels.

A few will always do what is needed, be there to handle things when they need handled. The rest? Well they can stay home and make sammichs.

Well, exactly WHAT massive, overwhelming problem is there that calls for a citizen response?

Is there a documentable problem with illegal aliens crossing the border as in the southwest?

Are you going to set up you own checkpoints and start stopping stopping cars, trucks, trains, and boats to search for the aforementioned bomb?

Should the US-Canadian border look like the Berlin Wall?
