| Who's hunting? I've been checking reports daily, planning on getting out this weekend. |
|
It aggrivates me that people pick the 1"ers just so they have something to take a picture of. There's a FB page for the Iowa morel season and several people are posting a half dozen baby mushrooms they've already pulled.
Hoping this sunshine will help bring em out in central Iowa. Really want to go hit up the Saylorville area. |

I've never had them are they any good? Breaded with crackers and egg then fried in butter....mmmmmmm...I can only eat a couple, but damn they are good. Dandelion flowers prepared the same taste about the same. Pull the stem and green leaves off. |

I've heard the dandelion story too, but I'll stick with the morels. |

Quoted: Sister in law's boyfriend went out near his hometown(Dubuque area) and found over 16 pounds. Gave me a big baggie full, probably 3/4 pound. FOr those more experienced than me, how long are they good for in the fridge, and can they be frozen or dehydrated? |

The buffalo were going nuts when we were out I did catch a 29lbs common last Wednesday that was full of eggs still. |

That's quite the haul. |

The two bags he shared were full of good sized ones too, I passed them on to my brother in law-he was very interested in them and more likely to eat them before they went bad than me. |
