NY, CA and AZ?
I'd pick AZ. The touristy places and the beach get old, then its like any other city. Only been to the beach once this year so far. AZ is by far the free-est (sp?) state of the three. I can only speak for LA... Crime depends on your area, situational awareness and its much less likely to happen to you. Cost of living: I hear its higher here than in most places. Taxes: probably higher here and in NY than in AZ Shooting: No outdoor shooting in LA country unless you're at an established range (with RSOs, you pay to shoot, etc). Most of your guns you should be able to keep. Rifles that you can bring in will probably need some variation of the bullet button. Any pistol without a threaded barrel or that isn't on the AW list is GTG (only FFLs selling handguns are subject to the safe handgun list). Also, cant have anything that would require an ATF tax stamp, unless you had it registered in the state when they came around and did the registrations around 2000. AZ would be far less hassle for your shooting-related stuff Stickies at the top of the forum should cover anything missed. |
| If you want to live in L.A. your going to be paying way to much for everything. If you can't afford the nice areas, don't move there. L.A. has some horrible areas to be in & around. Now there is plenty of other really great areas in California. Seal Beach is one of the greatest retiree spots in So. Cal. Palm Springs is also great, especially if your into golf. Santa Monica, San Diego, I lived in Beaumont and Yucaipa area for 12 years, hardly any crime semi low population. If your looking for a mtn style living without a huge drive to town try Oak Glen it is very beautiful up there. Hope that helps you have any questions let me know. |
