Some info for anyone in central IN who might be interested. The Moving Wall, the 1/2 scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be set up May 17-20 one block north of DFAS Finance Center on E. 56th St., NE side of Indy. The exact location is the parade field of old Ft. Harrison.
Opening ceremony will be Thursday, 5/17 at 1900 hrs. As an inducement to attend I can say there will be a fly in of 1 (possibly 2) restored Huey at approximately 1830 hrs. It (or they) will remain on static display through Sunday, 5/20. A contingent of veterans of the 27 Inf. Reg., known as the Wolfhounds, will arrive Fri. afternoon/eve. They have collected, and will bring, an impressive array of period equipment and memorabilia. Display will be open 24 hrs/day. |
