Any of you got any items in this pattern yet ?
I mean the civvies here. |

Indeed it probably is. To be honest when there are guys who actually need it and not getting it fast enough, I would feel very guilty acquiring it.
I know that gash kit has been around for ever - whether its a squaddie who nicked it, a squaddies spurned ex partner selling kit left behind ( or the dozen scenarios being discussed on the ARSSE forums at the moment re MTP kit ) but I still would not feel right having this item just yet. |

Well to prove your point, I deploy to the sand againin less than 2 weeks, still don't have any mtp and only have enough kit that I need as I've had to buy bits and pieces myself
But according to the government were not short of kit

Well, my unease has been moved up to "no way" now that I have read that.
Will not be taking up the offer. Actually, if I had not received a bill for 1.5k being solicitors fees for my house move, I would have been tempted to buy it and give it to you !! Anyway, good luck and stay safe over there. |

Cheers mate but it's fine, I'm pretty sure that changing the colour of my clothes from dessert to cat sick isn't going to make much difference to me out there. It's just the new thing at the moment, in 5 yrs time someone else will come up with a bright idea No one ever asks the guys on the ground what else they buy to make their lives easier, Instead it'll be some officer sat in an office deciding what's best for us cos he's been to the faulklands 5 yrs ago And been watching front line battle machines with mike brewer

We had a visit from the MOD once to see what equipment we were buying for ourselves in the patrols, they were shocked to find out other than the uniform and weapons we paid for everything else ourselves estimated at £500 a man In the end we got another set of windproofs
A lot of the gear for sale is one time issue stuff (issued for tours) you can end up with tons of the stuff over a career a lot of folks just sell or bin it !!! |

I once totalled up all the extra gear I had purchased that I deemed necessary but the job doesn't provide, came to @ £300...

Well if you don't want it honestly its absolute rubbish as normal, made by some cheap chinese manufacturer the cut and fit is worse than the cs95 and the fabric and dye they used is so oily, water just runs off it so i cant imagine its gonna be very breathable. might just wash it a few times before packing it
if you are gonna buy any, just buy the crye precision stuff or you'll be disapointed |
