Alright all of you Multnomah County residents... Which one are you voting for? Skipper or Ra'oof? Call me narrow minded but the biggest thing that matters to me is, "Are they NFA friendly?"...

I have had one can signed off on from Skipper already, however he did use Giusto's liberal cover letter that basically says that he does not believe in the NFA, however he believes in our constitutional right, blah blah blah...

Link to Letter

I know nothing about this Ra'oof guy and what his stance is on gun rights and NFA. I do know that he was in the Army so I have more respect for him. I am not sure about a Muslim though... Is that bad?

Yeah I have read that. Not a whole lot there...

Yep, not much info. Both seem to have a good deal of experience in the local LEO community, but I didn't see anything that made one or the other a clear choice, at least to me. I'm not familiar with Skipper's record from his previous term.

So I said "fuck it" and voted for Ra'oof just for the hell of it

Yes. Being a Muslim does not make a person a terrorist, despite what ignorant people all around this country think. It means they simply have a different belief system which (believe it or not!) is not a bad thing.

I would also like to know who has the best record with NFA stuff, as i may want to SBR some stuff in the future

I went with Skipper only because I KNOW he will sign off on NFA. I'm sure both men will do a fine job however.

As a person with inside knowledge of both I'd vote Skipper

You are absolutly correct, being a muslim does not make a person a(n international) terrorist, but (nearly) all international terrorists just so happen to be muslims.

Got the statistics to back up that little claim?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_terrorism

Yep that's pretty much all of em!

Edit to add: The key line is "a majority of the fatalities for which responsibility could be conclusively determined." This means that the rest of the terrorist attacks were unable to identify who committed them. Kind of strange if you ask me, but whatever. I'm sure the IRA thows those numbers off quite a bit...
