I personally wouldn't own one unless I came upon a stellar deal, thats mainly because I have other wants. But I definatly think the GSG is cool tho. I think with the prices of ammo lately, alot more people are going to be making .22lr conversions, and clones in .22lr. Thats the _only_ thing I like about higher ammo prices, its driving innovation to make plinking cheaper All this Sig .22lr kits being talked about, and going from: 1 mass produced(Ceiner) AR kit with expensive 30rnders, and 1 mass(M261) produced with only 10rnders. To having 3rd party mags for both those kits, and hicap's at that. Oly is working on making new M261's, Bushmaster has a kit, DPMS has been working on a kit. Several people modding ceiner kits to .22lr barrels. And thats just .22lr. Look at how popular 9mm and .45acp conversions have become also, just in the space of 2 years. |
I got it for two reasons. One is its a fun plinker and two ammo prices are going thru the roof. I bought a Ceiner kit yesterday also and will be building a dedicated .22 AR soon. Stay tuned for more rimfire purchases. Im looking for a WASR 22 as I type. |

Well it certainly looks cool. I was kinda hoping that the guy on one of the HK lists who was taking airsoft shells and gutting them to fit 10/22 actions would work out. he was selling them on Gunbroker for ~$125, which I could afford. But apparently his work was a little iffy and he stopped shipping.

I looked into those airsoft conversions also, I just couldnt get past the real mag sticking out of the butt stock that housed the 10\22 and then the fake mag up front. Yeah you could use a flush 10rndr but whats the fun in that Now these GSG's look really cool and I've been looking at them for a while. With teh price of ammo these are cheap to shoot and got the "tacticool" factor |
I was confused for a second there. Then I put 2 and 2 together and figured out POS was POSitive, not PieceOfShit. |
My bad, nothing but POSitive feedback. |
My bad. Yes, I did mean nothing but positive feedback. There is a factory SBR version already released, just not to the USA yet. Most airsoft accessories fit the rifle (A3 stocks, claw mounts, forward grip/rail) and since this is a low/no recoil rifle, it has no/minimal stress on these parts.... ![]() A good link: HERE Tons of great pics: HERE and HERE |
ScottMO, I don't think a Factory SBR will be available in the U.S. The GCA of 1968 stopped the importation of all NFA firearms for us lowly civillians. So we will have to rely on domestic conversions or Form 1 one yourself. |
Roger that. Wasnt sure on the factory/import issue regarding SBR's, etc. I would like to think that a factory SBR barrel/flash hider would be nice though, instead of a chop job... scottMO |
