Just got through making my trust to purchase a can at Dereks place......it went smoothly and i followed the following website (as well as a few others)
http://arizonagunlist.com/How_to_buy_NFA_class3_weapons_with_a_revocable_living_trust_without_a_CLEO_signoff.html After the whole thing, ive only got two questions: 1. My sucessor trustee is Adam Stein, my friend. His wife is a notary. Can she notarize the documents even though he's listed in them? 2. My schedule A is where the items in the trust are listed, correct? So i really can't fill this out UNTIL I go to Dereks and purchase the supressor and get the serail number and all that? As of right now i have "All national firearms act items" listed in schedule A. Is this sufficient, or do i need to make is specific? Then from now on, i just amend the schedule A if i purchase more cans in the future? Thanks guys! Sorry for the Newb questions! |

Schedule "a" is where they will go. I thought you had to have something on the schedule "A" before the item is approved ( so its valid then ) and not that NFA item. And I do believe after that you just amend to what you buy or sell off it. I sent my trust in with a surefire 6p flashlight on it and then when I got it back I added the supressor on it. Maybe I am wrong and if so I am sure someone here will correct me. |

Ahhh I see what you're talking about.....ill just list my Mosin with serial number and all on it i guess.....then "amend" the "A" form once i purchase and recieve the supressor. |

you could list an antique toilet on there. just has to be something you already own and have transferred ownership from you to the trust Just went ahead and bit the bullet and transferred my Walther and my S&W to it..... yeah its letting the .gov know about my firearms, but they're gonna know about the suppressors/sbr's and whatever else, so i dont really care... Thanks guys for all the information! I take it Derek is going to help me fill out the form 4 when i purchase the suppressor? |

I'd list something other than a gun, I put XBOX 360, a buddy put a candle, another put sparkplug |

Don't tell me "because the .gov shouldn't know your weapons" I want to know if there is a legit reason as to why not to do it this way...like a problem if i sell the weapon or what-not. |

I don't know if you have to amend the schedule A each time an item is sold, but if that's the case I'd probably forget to do it if I sold one of the rifles I added to it. It's not like I only have one candle in the house, or sparkplug, etc. nor do they have serial numbers registered at the ATF. If you can add something as simple as a candle or a Surefire I guess my question is why would you want to put a rifle on the trust unless you want someone else to inherit it when you croak, or you are required to do so by the ATF. |

*SNIP*
OK i see your point.....At this point I'll leave it alone. I put my Walther and my S&W on it- so whats done is done...i don't feel like printing out all that crap again. Besides, if I do croak, i'd like them to go to someone who'd use them! Thanks guys for all the help, turns out Derek is a notary so he's going to do it for me! Woohoo! My 1st NFA purchase is coming soon! I feel like Derek is popping my cherry in the back of my totaled pathfinder! |
