I filled out a form 1 yesterday for a SBR lower and I'm also waiting on a form 4 to come back for a supressor. My wife and I are looking for another house and plan on renting out the house we live in now. I understand the Tax stamp for the supressor will go to AO (where I bought the can) but the Tax stamp for the my SBR will go to my house.

1. If I move before getting the stamp back for the lower can I contact the ATF to change address or that a no-no and only complicate things?
2. Could I change the address on my Trust and Forms 1 and maybe 4 soon (another can) to my parents and get the stamp sent to them?
3. Should I just wait until I move to do the Forms?

BTW I didnt mail the Form 1 yesterday yet. These damn stamps take so long to come back that I dont want to put it off any longer.

Thanks for the help
Steve

I purchased a suppressor in Nov. 2010
the order for my 45Osprey was placed in Jan. 2011
I submitted the form at the beginning of May 2011

I moved Sep. 16th 2011

My dealer called and told me to pick my can up a couple days later.

He said to just notify the ATF then of my new address.

Don't take this post as actual legal advise though.

Thanks ranger, I think I'm gonna change the address on my Trust so that it matches the Forms and go about it that way until I move.

That was a Form 4. I think that the OP was more so referring to a Form 1, which comes back to the address that you put on the Form 1.

The address that you put on ANY ATF Form [1,4, 4473] should be where you physically live, and in almost every instance should be the address on your photo ID.

If it were me, I would wait on the Form 1 until I moved. The only reason I say that is how bad would it suck to wait 6+ months for the Form 1 to clear and it be mailed to your old address, and then returned to sender? It wouldn't necessarily cancel your Form 1 out, but it could add some hassle to it.

Can't you just make sure you get renters you trust enough to forward your non-junk mail?

Or  maybe this?

Once the form shows up fill out a 5320 to change your address.
