Hi guys, I have a handgun permit that will be 90 days old on Wednesday and I am not sure if my gun will be in by then. What is the process to get it renewed for another 90 days and how long does this take? Do I simply go down to the state police where I picked up the permit and have the firearms officer take care of it or will there be more paperwork, background checks, waiting, etc. Thanks |

I have had mine extended on two occasions, no big deal either time. Simply took them down to the local PD and handed em to the detective, he sent them to the chief, who signed off on them with the revised date, and got em back in a few days. Of course, dealing directly with the NJSP, who the hell knows.... |
