How many of our Montana crew are lifers? I am, and naturalized my wife. (Who always stresses the NORTHERN in "Northern California")
The sooner we get this info, the sooner the ribs and roasts can start. So I'm immune from all of that even with a foreigner as a wife. You know that old saying,"the heart wants what the heart wants", so I didn't have a choice. Sly |
| Moved here when I was 2, and then raised here. In 1985 I left and lived all over the place, 14 places in 18 years. Not finding anything that suited me elsewhere, I moved back here with the family in 2003. My wife having kept a subscription to Montana Magazine did not help at all during those years. My wife might not be from here, but she is from here now. That East Coast New England accent gives her away though when you talk to her. I never suspected she would like living in the sticks (she picked the place), but we have neighbors down the road now and to her they are too close. :D |

Then I got a job with lots of out of state travel. There's no place like home! Sly |

Kalispell Native, family moved here in 1890's owned the first pharmacy in NW Montana I have a friend that moved to Kalispell, shortly after I gave him a case of BRD. We met through our employment and there was a good amount of ribbing that took place. 30-06 v. .270, Glock v. 1911, 300 v. 7 monkey monkey megagundamn, EBR v. Shiloh Sharps, Coors v. Budweiser. (Note, my picks are listed first here) I took him and a fellow employee coyote hunting. We stopped by my uncle's to check our Zeros. They rode together and joined me there- with their bolt guns. After they had both fired a couple groups, I stepped up to the line with my BFI M4gery outfitted with an Aimpoint and threw 3 quick rounds at the steel gong. Bang, bang, bang. Clang, clang, clang. I turned to them and said "I'm good to go". Then I offered to let them shoot my rifle. They seemed to enjoy burning up my ammo. They followed me out to the place we were hunting. Our mutual friend later told me the buddy who now lives in Kalispell never stopped talking about that "awesome" and "amazing" rifle during the entire twenty minute drive. He purchased his first AR within the week. Sly |
| Born in Commiefornia, moved to Montana at 16. Love the state and don't want a damn thing to change. Haven't left and married a gal born in Butte, America. Guess I am now naturalized. We just had a son born in Helena as well, so my spouse and son now outrank me. |
| Born here, both parents born here. Grandmother on my biological fathers side was Blackfoot.. so I guess that's native and Native (even though I have no active affiliation with the tribe). My adoptive father's side has been ranching in the Belgrade/Manhattan area for three generations that I know of. My grandparents on my Mother's side were both born in Three Forks and my great grandparents from her side were all born in MT, not sure exactly where. I do know one great grandfather on my Mom's side was arrested in Bozeman for shooting out the street lamps from his horse after a night on the town before he was married. |
Born in Montana(on the Hi-line) raised in MT/WY . I want to come back in the worst way<------------- is a clue as to where I grew up. Sir James... |

Wondering if you're wanting to come back to the Hi-line specifically, or to Montana? As I get older, I'm getting used to the flatter side East of Billings. Visited Kalispell a few weeks ago. It is damn nice up there. Was back there the last coupe days, just got home this evening. Dunno that I would go back to the Hi-Line. Where I grew up has really gone down the tubes. Besides I need to be in a population center for my line of work. So It would have to be in Billings or Great Falls. I prefer the flatter side of the state as well. Sir James... |

Born and raised in Montana. Got more cousins that I can count that still live here, sadly its in eastern Mt that is not near as nice as western Mt. But I guess its not all bad western Mt people trying to take over moving here for jobs. I see you're a 13'er, but I'm willing to overlook that since you're native Montanan .
