A friend and I are looking for a class or classes on defensive handgun shooting. We both are CCW permit holders and looking for something to better our skills and learn stuff so we can practice something different when we go to the range.
I have seen a couple offered in this forum and when they become available the both of us would like to take advantage of them. We both live in the Denver metro area and are willing to travel in Colorado for the classes. So if anyone can point us in the right direction, or offer reviews of classes they have taken. I guess our skill level is basic to intermediate and we have no problems taking basic classes in order to progress. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |
| We offer an Advanced CCW course running this summer with force on force scenarios. This might be what you guys are looking for. Best way to train for a gunfight, is to get in one (where you can walk away from and have a beer with the shooter afterwards, of course). After a few hours of reviewing multiple shots, multiple targets, shooting on the move, turns, barricades and more, we utilize UTM converted firearms, and integrate CRS and use of force guidelines into a practical application of basic shooting fundamentals against live assailants (or no shoots). Look into MARS Advanced Weapons Systems. I took their CCW class and it covered a great deal more then most i've looked into. 6+ hours in the classroom covering everything from when and where you can and carry methods, and then we hit the range to make sure we could employ the weapons properly and if not the instructors got the students up to speed and made sure it stuck.
I'm looking forward to their Pistol and Carbine Pistol Integrated later in the year. |
