| I am going to buy a non-running truck that is down in macon. My problem is that I have no way to get it up to duluth. I thought I had a truck and trailer lined up to get it back home, but now it looks like that is not going to happen. Any ideas how I can get it back up here without paying an arm and a leg? |

I did this. Warning though...
PAY FOR THE EXTRA INSURANCE!!!! I was pulling my newly (at the time) purchased 1968 Ford F100 short bed onto the Uhaul trailer connected to my (at the time) roomate's brand new Chevy Avalanche, when the trailer came off the hitch and speared the rear end of his truck. I was pissed. He was suprisingly calm. I felt like shit for having damaged his truck, BIG TIME. I got out my cell phone, and called UHaul. While I was on hold, I heard my newly purchased truck's motor start to stumble and stall. As I turned to look, I caught the fireball coming out from under the hood, and all of the water from the motor SPLASH on the ground. Luckily the fire self extinguished fairly fast. Turns out the motor wasn't mounted securely, and the motor shifted. This caused the fan to buzz-saw through the radiator. It was spectacular. My roommate made out fat from the whole deal. UHaul fixed his truck, and he pocketed somewhere between $200 and $300. The point is, have a good plan before you leave to get the truck. You will need to figure out how you are getting it on the trailer. And for Christ's sake, GET THE INSURANCE!!!! |

This was God's way of telling you never to ask a Chevy to tow a Ford. Especially that "half truck" to tow a man truck. |
