| I need a gunsmith to do some stock work. I have a 10/22 wooden stock that I want improved, with the receiver and action bedded along with the barrel channel relieved to float the barrel. I'm willing to travel a bit and look over a wide area. The boundary is the area formed by connecting Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Lexington, Bowling Green, and Louisville. So, I am clearly very serious and flexible. Who within that area could do the work for me. |

I would suggest you talk to Claude Wright (guncrank.com). Claude has done a lot of stock work, including ressurecting and checkering my 1959 model Marlin 39A, which has turned out beautifully, and at a reasonable cost. He also makes custom stocks that are quite nice. I have seen several that he has made, and they were very nicely done, especially one Mauser sporter I looked at, and several Mosin Nagant stocks.
Claude is in Fern Creek, on Louisville's south side. Tell him I sent you. |
