My Dad has been life-flighted to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, OR following a horrific horse wreck.

I need to know if this is a good hospital, etc.

Many thanks in advance.

One of the best trauma centers in the country.   I've known a few cops that write on their vests "send me to Emmanuel" or something similar.

My mom was in a near fatal car accident about a year ago and was taken to there.  They took very good care of her and she is doing well.  Its a great hospital.

I give anesthesia for a living in Astoria Or and we send all our trauma patients to Emanuel. He is in the best care possible in Oregon. Emanuel is one of two Level one trauma centers in Portland. The other choice is ohsu, the university, but If I had a choice I would chose Emanuel. Good luck with your father.

The wreck happened Sunday and since then we have been experieceing the 'he's doing better/he's doing worse' game. He is battling each set-back.

Thanks for your IM, if there is anything that you can do, I will definitely let you know.
