I just purchased one of these and I do not have the tools to install it. None of the local gun shops have the tool that I need. Does anyone local know how to install one of these or have the tool?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think all you need is the castle nut wrench.

ETA:  If you only need the castle nut wrench, I can't imagine one of the shops not having one.  They might have one if you paid them to put it on.

A Magpul what?  A stock?  Like a CTR or a ACS? ....  Do you already have a stock?  I do have a castle nut wrench, but you shouldn't really need one of those if you already have a stock on there.....

Explain!

Fwiw, I've found a small strap wrench works pretty well on those castle nuts.

+100 on the strap wrench, it works better because it doesnt mar the finish of the castle nut.

Also, I just installed an ASAP plate and its a straight up major pain in the ass. PM if you need advice on how to get the key to work. I probably wouldnt do it again looking back, that d-ring rattles when no sling is attached and is annoying.

Go see Gary B at Archdale Ammo and Arms and see if he can help you out.  If hes not busy he will usually be nice and git-r-done.

Or call 336-434-1522 and ask for him and he will let you know what he can do.

LOL.....I was thinking "As soon as possible"........sorry....it was late at night.  I replaced my end plate just using the armorer's tool....the one that has the longer "castle nut wrench" on the end of it for more leverage.  Unfortunately, it was staked on, so I pretty much screwed up the castle nut in the process.  I just replaced it with another one so now it looks purrty.

thanks guys for all the help. I borrowed the castle nut wrench from GIDDS 45. It was a very easy install and took maybe 15 minutes because I didn't know what I was doing. The asap works great the with MS2 Sling!

Thanks again!!!!!
