I know many of us are in this same situation, but here it is; my dad decided to get an AR so I helped run this all down for him and got him a lower. I've been looking at mags and had a deal yesterday but now the guy is playing games and says he sold to someone else. I honestly don't have all day to checknthe classifieds waiting to be ass raped on mag prices, so I wanted to see if any of the local bunch had any PMags or quality USGI mags they would be willing to part with at a reasonable price. Not looking for charity here, just sick of the ass raping that I'm seeing with the panic buying.

At this point after all the reading I've done in the last 36 hrs. I wouldn't move to fast on any deals to buy any mags. over 10 rnds. And here are the reasons why.
We are reading the words "Executive Action, And prohibition of high-capacity magazine / clips" This could mean a few things. But If you venture over to the NY home town board. You'll read where the state of NY is looking and 90% will, pass a magazine law that drops from 10 to 7 rnds. Then you will have 360 days after the law would change to remove the old 10 rnds mags from that state. Now with all that said, The NRA says they will fight any type of AWB including any ban on magazines also. But all that gets tossed out if the White House does all this threw Executive Action. Yes, you could get grandfathered in on the one's out there. But I'm also reading about non transfer or sale of them. I and others are thinking that somehow??? You would have register them so they know where they are all at. At this point, With the cost of hard to find items. And with god only knows what we will see from the White House later this week. I'd hold off on spending 4x's what they are worth. At least till we get a clear picture of what the future holds for this class of weapons. All this is just IMHO. But I'm not the only guy holding back to see what's going to happen. FYI, I've got a fair amount of skin in this fight. I'm sitting here waiting on 3, NFA tax stamps ( 7 months in) wondering where things are going to settle out at. |
