What kind and how big are you looking for?  I've seen the Walmart special for $200 or the nice one I got at Roadrunner for $2k.  How many weapons, kind of lock, etc...???

Looking at keeping my AR, M1A, several shotguns, 22's, and 2 pistols. I'd like a little room to grow into, and fire proof. 2k is my budget.
Is there a Roadrunner dealer in Tucson?

Roadrunner is a Gunshow, not a dealer.

The Granite safes sold by Costco are a good deal.

Right, but wrong in this account.  Roadrunner Lock and Safe is on Grant Road between Alvernon and Swan on the South side of the road.  It's in a shopping plaza that has a hotdog place called Lukes (which has a killer Chicago Classic Dog by the way!!!!).  Check there b/c they move it into your house and install it if you want.  I think it was like $50 or so for mine, but totally worth the money!  No back pains and my safe holds 28 long guns in it.  My two words of advice would be to buy the biggest one you can and get an electronic lock on it.  The E-lock is because it's so much quicker to get into the safe in the case of SHTF.  It's happened to me twice since I've had it.  I had a handgun in my room, but wanted the shotgun for someone in my yard.  Didn't have to use it, but having it only take two seconds to get into my safe versus fifteen plus was a huge relief.  Take it FWIW.

S/A may have a good deal on the safe, but here's why I'll never shop there again.  The other thing is that I have a Liberty Safe and they come w/ Lifetime REPLACEMENT Guarantee.  Someone tries to break into it, no problem.  If they can't fix it, they replace it for free.  Stackon's are good for general storage, but I'm not sure of the fire-rating and the security level of it.  IMHO, if you've got the money for a good quality safe, get it.  Better safe than sorry.    Sorry for the pun...

+1 for Liberty.  They do something else that I haven't heard of anybody else in the business doing.  They will allow you to trade in your safe toward another, bigger safe if the need arises.  The trade in values are around 85% IIRC.

Tucson Guns and Western artifacts on Broadway will give you a smoking deal on American Security.  I have 2 of them and they are good safes.
