Todd County Purchased Stag the other day. Flat top, no sights, gas block. I was going to put my reddot on the thing yesterday and remembered that I gave it away a couple years ago. Has anyone tried that BSA reddot from wal-mart. I don't have the money for a good one fight now. I seen knock offs on ebay but are a little nervous about knock off quality. Its an eotech without the eotech. If that makes sense. |

Welcome to Arfcom, 107207!! As far as the red dot, no experience with the ones you are asking about. But, for the price of the cheap red dots, you can someteimes get a good set of back up iron sights (BUIS) that will be quality and last you and serve you well even if you ever got to put on a quality red dot optic. Another option is to watch the Optic Equipment Exchange board here on Arfcom and possibly snag a "good" quality used optic for a decent price ( although you gotta be quick sometimes |
Welcome! Buy a carry handle and use iron sights until you can afford to get a better optic. Why throw money away now on something you'll replace? The carry handle is a good investment. |

I had an extra simmons scope on my 30-30. I took it off of it and now Im going to use it for when I go coyote hunting. That way I can put it on when I go hunting. When the funds come in hopefully I'll have another setup for different situation. I would buy a whole upper but the funds won't let me right now. Only takes a few minutes to switch setups anyways. Everything should stay zeroed when taken off. As long as the sights don't get banged around. My plan is basically flip up sights with reddot. This is going to be a project plan I can see it now. By the way. To hunt coyote legal I need to find small magazines. I have a bunch of 30s but no 10s and 20s. Metal military is what I got now. Where is a good place to find them. Most Oak Grove sells mil-spec I noticed after writing my prior statement I noticed about the use of knock-off and clone. From what Im reading is that you can not say it looks like or is close to name brand. I seen an item on ebay that is something I would like to have but it says airsoft. Is that just a way around legal mambo jumbo talk? I would rather not get locked out in that case? |

I've got a couple of the BSA Red Dots from Wally World. One of them has been on a MAC10, two AR15s, and currently lives on a Hi-point Carbine. The other was on an AR15 until Santa brought me another Eotech. If you'd like to borrow one and try it out before you buy I'm sure we could meet up someplace. I'm in Oak Grove. ETA: For hunting you have to use a 10 rnd mag. You can easily block a 20 or 30 rounder so it will only accept 10 rounds. Eagles of War has used mags for $7 and the little Korean Army Surplus place near the Pink Lady had them for $5. |

Sounds good. HEy I got a little problem? If you get a chance check out my troubleshoot. Bolt not wanting to lock after last round. Check if you get some time see if you know what might be the problem. By the way. I got my stag at Gun and Knife country. Ever been there |
