I just found the Hometown section of this board, and thought I would introduce myself.

I just moved to Corvallis, and recently got into shooting. I have a few toys, nothing fancy. Would love hook up with some of you guys to go plinkin'.

I am bummed that I did not see this forum sooner, or I would have gone up to Brown's camp for the shootout.

Hope to be getting one of those at the funshow this month.

I have two AR-15 ( 16" A2 and M4 A3 both Bushmaster), two BAR-10, a MAC-11, and two SIGs (P226 and P239 both .40 S&W)

The M4 and BAR-10s are brand new, and I am dying too take them out.

Ko67 welcome. Good choice in Pistols I like SIGs and also have a P226 and P239 both in 9 though. We will have another shoot at the begining of the years Jan/Feb time frame. Of course all or shoots are "Rain, snow or shine" so don't be afraid to get those guns wet.

Again welcome and hope to see at a shoot soon.

Hey all,

Fellow Corvallis/OSU Arfcommer here as well.  You guys should try and make it to the Speed Steel shoots at the Albany Rifle Pistol Club.  The next one is on the 19th.

Cheers

Damn new guys! Where's the beer, sammiches, and pie? You didn't read the user agreement did you? Every new guy must bring these things.

Guess I shouldn't mention the fact that I am a Chef.

I may be able to conjure up some BBQ at the next shoot.

Might have to go shooting I'm a Sig addict myself looking at the P239 as a possible CCW. Never fired the 239 though. All I own is a P229 in .40 and a USP in .45

Never heard this before... what parts?

Only thing I know of is the peak itself.

Young Jedi, you have much to learn.

Mary's Peak is all legal to shot at...most of it.

So head out towards Phillometh, stop by the gun shop.  Keep going out of town and then take the big left vs going striaght to Newport.  Head straight and you will hit the Mountain, start going up.  Take the right the leads to the top of the Peak, towards the gov. park I believe.  Start going trough all the curves.  Look on your left, there will be side roads for logging trucks allong the curves. Pull over in one, park in front of the gate, grab your gear and hike up about 50 yards and start shooting!

Things I did right in Corvallis:

Shoot alot on Mary's Peak

Things I did wrong in Corvallis:

Asked a girl to marry me on Mary's Peak

Asking any girl to marry you is a mistake. LOL  I did that and she was even an ar-15 fan. Got me to buy my first one.  :)  But she liked to play games. LOL But I got the love of AR's out it.

Thanks for the heads up I'll have to check that out.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!

I will have to go poke around Mary's peak. I have 10 acres to shoot on, but it tends to piss off the neighbors, so I keep it to a minimum.

As for the cops in Corvallis....

10 years in Portland never got pulled over once. 1 year in Corvallis and i have been pulled over 4 times. Only one ticket issued for a  tail light that some piece of sh@# decided to bust out. Scumbag busts it out and I get the ticket.

Where is mary's peak. There is no place around Hillsboro to go shooting.  I have end up going out east of Scotts Mills.  Dan Woods

Try Brown's Camp. It's about 20-30 minutes West of Hillsboro.
