I have been shooting all my life, but I am new to tactical shooting and weapons. I'm getting out of hunting, and looking for a new hobby that involves shooting. I don't know anything about AR's except aim and pull the trigger. My long term goal is to build my own AR 15. But 1st, I need to learn about them. Anybody here want to take on a new trainee and teach me about AR's? I talking about brand new, know nothing about anything. I am in Sumter, and anybody here or relatively close by would be great. Like I said, been around guns and shooting all my life, so I will catch on pretty fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard!

There is a wealth of information in the tech forum (see the "AR-15" button below the banner above).  My first AR was a parts kit and stripped lower (I bought the upper pre-assembled).  It's not a complex beast, and I assembled the lower without assistance.

After you get started, there is the accessorizing.  There will be a lot of opinions - find what works for you.

I'm not close to you, but someone who is will probably stop in here pretty soon.

Welcome Moose! Let me know when you want to get started. I buy everything that I can direct from the manufacturers, part by part
