Yeah, it's heavy - but there's no other way for me to afford glass this good with two kids running around And yes. IMI 77 grains shoot sub MOA in the gun I am building out.  Figured I could pass the deal along tho. Lot of glass for the money. Maybe just have to practice my 16oz curls to bulk up

If you don't want to try clipping the provided thermal onto your own rifle, feel free to use one of Doc's or mine that's already set up with zero confirmed. Shouldn't be impossible targets on that stage, more of just a sampler for guys that haven't used them before and want to try something different. I'm thinking some of the small targets at 225-240yd and 270yd are going to be eating points a lot faster than the thermal ones. |

On my last match I had trouble seeing the target numbers through my rear sight because I am still (as usual) Old School and shooting with irons. At Perry I picked up a pretty good flat top upper complete with BCG for $400 and I'm going to put an inexpensive (starter)scope on it in mildot/mils and see how that works out. I couldn't justify a WOA and a Nightforce at this stage of the game. At this stage of the game the rifle is most likely not going to see over 200 yards anyway as I'm probably just going to shoot reduced matches. The days of quarter minute of X-ring accuracy are long gone. Half minute of aiming black sounds about right. |

Just signed up to this account. Not sure why I didn't do this years ago. Anyhoo, longtime shooter here - competed on the IUP rifle team back in the day. (Got our asses kicked by full ride scholarship terminators for the most part). I just came across the DMR matches at Rosedale and I'm looking to step up the shooting a notch since it gets boring pinging steel at 200m on a benchrest at my local club. I'm just not looking forward to shooting the match and then wondering why I traded my Larue 14.5 Stealth UUK last year cuz that setup has DMR written all over it... Has anyone shot at their "military style" matches and can attest to the fun? Also looking to run full kit rifle to pistol transitions without having to drive a hour and half to Wash Co. Machine guns...any info helps! |

I didn't shoot the last match, but I've shot with a number of those guys in the past. The guy who sets up most of the shoots/matches usually tries to make most of these types of things fun and inviting to everyone. I always have a good time when I go out to an event. From what I recall the last DMR was meant to test your individual skills, iron out the details of the match, and have fun. It wasn't meant to be a super competitive event. Check out the night shoot facebook page as well. You'll see a lot of updates on there for random shoots or matches. |
