| Though not a government employee, I received my letter this week stating that my personal info. was compromised in the government data breach. It appears that people who have had background checks done were vulnerable as well. Not to concerned about it, I don't believe it was nigerian criminals harvesting credit card numbers, but rather the Chinese military. I'll sign up for the free 3 year service also. Anyone else get notified? |

Haven't gotten one, although I remember my brother asking for my information when he was going through a clearance review, and I'm sure my info was included when my dad went through his TS clearance a few years back. I'm guessing MY clearance paperwork was too old to be in the system, since it wasn't even an SF-86, but was a different form number (need to scan it in, the box it was in in the garage took some water damage and while it's legible, it's not in very good condition). |
| My clearance was just renewed as well late last year. My wife got a notification but I haven't yet. That seems strange. All my family info is compromised and the government can't be sued for it. Their security was a joke and they didn't even use data encryption that other agencies have had for decades. |
