I'm currently taking a digital photography class for college, and we had to choose the theme of our final portfolio. Naturally, I chose firearms http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3387/3205565874_d41ffcc96d_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3416/3204782305_b81840be93_b.jpg |

You want the shots no one gets, go to the places no one goes. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=34&t=285276 around 40K in photos on the hard drive. Call the local sheriff and see if he will let you photograph the evidence room. NOI Well, the aim of my project was to capture the use/ownership of a law abiding American enjoying their hobby. I could go to the local gun store and get some pictures of their guns, but that would be bland and would have no substance. I intend for my pictures to have some life rather than be inanimate objects confiscated from bad guys
Thanks for the comments on the pictures, and if I capture some more good ones I'll definitely post them up here. |

That shooter needs to work on his grip. He's ex-army I figured had they shot any type of handgun it would have been that, but I'm not one to judge.
Most guys in the Army dont receiving any training on the pistol. And typicaly if they do receive some, its minimal at best. |

I didn't express myself very well there.
You don't have to leave the US To get shots of guns and shooters unlike the ones you see in the gun mags everyday. You need to get the camera in positions unlike everyone else. With in safe limits of course. Everybody and his dog shoots gun photos from the safe (read that easy) side. in back of the shooter, or from the right side so you can catch brass in the air. Problem is EVERYONE has those shots. Find an empty range, or private shooting area with a shooter you can work safely with. get on the roof of the range or a ladder and photograph down. get under the shooter and photograph upward. if you have a remote put the camera in front of the shooter you will need to sandbag the camera for this, and I recommend you use a glass filter a UV filter will work well for this. that way any loose particles or sand that might strike the lenses will scratch a $10 filter not your lens. just some thoughts. First of all, I'd like to thank Upstate Armory Group for their hospitality and letting me photograph their awesome guns. I got a lot of great shots, and got to see a lot of cool stuff I wouldn't have had an opportunity to see otherwise. Having seen the quality of their employees and their work, I'd recommend them to anyone in the area or otherwise. I had a great time today, thanks again guys!..and now for some pics http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3361/3226483091_d8e7e41cbb_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3115/3227394648_cfa54b4e61_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3481/3226517185_c7874065b4_b.jpg Some more to come later |

Not offended in the least bit, where did that little comment come from?? Maybe MY humor was lost on you?? |

| Supra_MK3, those are some great pictures! Thanks for sharing. The Barrett picture reminds me of my trip to the RustedAce shoot near Asheville, NC. Cope brought his Barrett and was generous enough to allow each of us there an opportunity to fire several times. Awesome experience! |
