I'm about to pick up a Jeep for the wife. While it will be her daily driver it will still be my off road toy. So I'm looking for different shops around central Arkansas that do good work and that I can trust to do the job correctly the first time. Any suggestions would be great.

| 4x4 Offroad Outfitters in North Little Rock. I know the owner personally. I also know one of their workers. The worker went to Iraq and back with me. One of the best mechanics I've met in years (that's saying something in my line of work). The owner is first rate great guy, and very much an off roader himself. |

If you must not use her DD as your off-road toy. Get your own toys. |
Ill keep that in mind CCJ. It's not like I'm going to do serious off roading with it right now. Just take it on some trails and have some fun with it. And besides, I am buying my own toy. I'm just letting her drive it everyday . The agreement is that she gets it till she get out of school and I buy her a graduation present / armada that she really wants. Then the jeep will become more trail worthy.

OK Pike, It's just that I hear this same thing over and over again. " I won't do anything serious enough to break anything". Right after that it's " dang, can someone help get my Jeep back home so I can get it fixed before work on Monday".
I have been there too you know. I have two off road rigs just in case. |

I've seen the same thing as well. But luckily if I wanna do major offroading then I'll just call a friend or take my wheeler out. This will be more for trail riding and the occasional trip to ORV.
Do you do all your own work or do you take it to a shop that you trust. And I'm fairly certain it's against all internet rules to mention 2 off road rigs and not post mandatory pictures. |

Quoted: I was really just thinking about hitting it with bed liner and calling it good. Something that I can easily touch up when it gets fucked up and my wife is freaking out ![]() I use tractor enamel. Tough as nails and easy as hell to touch up when (not if) I gouge the piss out of it. For shops, hit up 4x4 Offroad Outfitters in NLR. |

I wish I had the spare cash to drop my FJ60 off at an outfitter and come pick it up when its done...carbed smog motors make me want to drown kittens. Needs more third gen Vortec motor. I've thought about it, but this thing is really too cherry to do something like that to. I'm seriously conflicted on doing any modding to it. I inherited it from my OCD grandfather who bought it new, and it has been garage kept and only has 42k miles on it. I don't have any money to do anything other than love it currently as I am having to put a new motor in my other 4x4 (in my avatar)...stupid pancake motors. |
