Maybe it was Kansas. Seems like it is against state law to ban people from having a firearm in their vehicle. Maybe different if it is in a parking garage?

Friend of a friend. Altercation outside work made it known they were on the way to work with a handgun.

He's good to go, but he might want to alert local PD of the threat, and also retain any written or recorded version of the threat and when he contacted LE/who he spoke to/etc.

Thanks. Long story short the person kept their job. Company realized they had no right.

Uh, if they were making threats, "Altercation outside work made it known they were on the way to work with a handgun." that changes things.
