[To all my fellow shooters any all whom it concerns. One Shot gun shop is by far the best in town. Yea we all miss Jason being there but its not like he was the only one there that cares about everyones gun needs. One Shot has always been there for me and did whatever they could to help, weather it was with guns, ammo, service or just info I needed. As far as thier prices go, I can't find any consistantly lower prices on anything they offer, even online wholesale places!

Well, well, well I have an idea! Why don't all of you critic's pull together and open your own shop and we will see how that goes. And as for the shitty service some of ya"ll referred to, maybe its just that you were a shitty customer, don't know for sure but just some random thoughts.

Im in sales, and I do not have any "shitty" customers.  My customers keep the lights on and food on my table.  I thank them for buying from me because they have a choice to go elsewhere.  Its attitudes like that - that keep the internet sales going.

OR we can just take our business elsewhere.

Yeah, I think I'll just do that.

Never been to the place, or heard of it and don't need to based on the six-to-one comments ratio in the negative.

Golly...any chance you work there or own it?

OK- I normally don't post a lot but over the last few days I've posted several comments about One Shot. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not slamming them in hopes that they fail but in hopes that word gets to them that they have a customer service problem. I think we should all want One Shot to stay open and be successful. Why? Because they sell the types of stuff we like, as opposed to a general service gun shop that's 80% hunting guns (which are nice in their own right, but we need a good tactical type store in the Cinci area).

As I said in another post, the prices don't bother me as much as the customer service and generally rude attitude. If they had bad service all along I wouldn't be typing this - but when a store goes from a solid A to a C-  within a few months there is a problem with daily management and staffing.  The firearms and ammo bubble is over (for now) and for a store stay open long term they need regular long term customers.

I'm not sure if the OP works  for One Shot or not - doesn't really matter in my book. I wish Chris or the current manager would stop by and read the threads concerning their shop and speak up to address some of our comments in an up front professional manner.

Thank you for the comments and no I don't work at or for One Shot. You are right about not needing to slam the gun shop and I'm sure Chris and everyone at One Shot is reading this, because that is where I heard about the slashing comments myself. It just kinda pissed me off when I read what was being said about them. Maybe we all need to get our supplies, service and guns where we feel comfortable with the surrounding services and prices.

One Shot, Inc. is growing rapidly.  It is absolutely impossible to appease every customer that comes through the door.  It is also impossible for myself to keep up with every post on this site.  I might visit this site only once a month at best.  There are just some people with the attitude that if I give them a million dollars, they will complain about having to pay taxes instead of being happy they were given free money.  We can't make every customer happy.

We can suggest that if you have a bad experience in the store or on the phone, that you let me PERSONALLY know of it.  With my schedule being the way it is, I cannot fix all the problems if I don't know about it.  If there is a sales guy that is not treating you the way you would like, tell me and I will fix it.  If the prices are too high on an item, and our competition has it cheaper, we can't fix it unless you tell us.  We don't shop around all the gun shops for prices.  We can't, there is just not enough time.  We rely on the consumer to help.  If the prices can be adjusted, we will.  If they can't, we don't fault you for making your purchase elsewhere.

Please keep in mind, even with One Shot growing in fashion it has in the past years, we are still a small gun shop when compared to WalMart, Dicks, Bass Pro shop and even Vances in Columbus.  These larger shops will always beat our prices on a lot of items.  It comes down to buying clubs and volume buying for several locations.  We excel at niche markets, and service.  Again, on service, if there is a problem that you have experienced, let me know and I will fix it.

We have done gun smithing before in the past.  With Jason and myself being the two guys doing it, it is hard to keep up when we are not in the store as much.  So in this case, we have stopped this service.  We have had customers waiting too long for simple jobs, and we end up doing the work for under costs.  This is an area that I knew we were lacking, so I fixed it.  We no longer provide this service.  If there is a person out there who feels they are qualified to do minor gun smithing work, I invite you to stop in and fill out an application for that position as part time.

On the topic of employment.  Jason Minardi was never fired from One Shot.  He is a very dear friend of mine and will always have a position at One Shot.  Jason is currently working as the floor chief at Munitions.  Jason is a better fit in the manufacturing of ammunition rather than a manager at the storefront.  One Shot employs 16 people total between full and part time.  We just hired 3 more on the munitions side for upcoming projects.  With the other project's OSI and OSM has in the making, we will be hiring in upwards of 50 people above the 16 we have now.

On the topic of OSM.  We do have our own line of ammunition.  We are producing 34 different weights and calibers.  We also have on the radar screen 17 more for this year alone.  For those of you that have been in the store and seen and or shot it, it is good ammunition.  Just like any company, we have had our troubles in the beginning which have been worked out.  Just last year, we have fired over 10,000 rounds just for testing and assurance.  We are licensed with a type 10 FFL, insured for product liability, our application has been approved by SAAMI for becoming an associate member, and we are on track for becoming an ISO 9001 certified company.  Our facility is currently 5,000 square feet with another building being looked at for an additional 10,000 square feet.  Our range for testing only is 1,200 yards long.  There are some products that are being produced that the consumer has not seen in the store.  This isn't a big secret project that requires top secret clearance, it is just simply being sold to distributors, Police Departments, and special orders before it can reach the store.

Not to dive too deep into the personal finances of the company, I will say this:  Since November of 2008 until the close of last year, OSI has sold 3,759 firearms, and have sold ammunition to 4 foreign governments.  One government has already placed an order for this year.  So obviously we are doing something right.  We have done the Shot Show.  Not attended, we were there as Vendors.  Both shows were great and resulted in many LE sales and FG sales.  We are on the waiting list for the NRA show in Charlotte.  The show has been booked for the past 6 months.

Summation.  I try to make everyone a happy customer.  Sometimes I can't.  We are firm believers that you give what you receive and vise versa.  Rather than jumping on line, blasting us for bad service or high prices, email me so I can fix it.  Just because you had a problem, doesn't mean that others will.  I can't fix what I don't know is broken.  My personal email is below.  I'm not in the store throughout the week as much as I like.  I am however at the store all day on Saturday.  If there is a problem you have, and would rather speak with me in person, I invite you into the store to fix it.  Please, Please, Please, email me with the problems you might be having and I will do my best to correct them.

For all those who have stood behind and defended the store, I Thank You.

New store hours are Monday through Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-5

I have only been to One Shot about a half dozen times and to my knowlege I've never met Jason or Chris.

On one occassion, the guys in the shop sold me a $10 sling attachment for my AR and then installed it for free.  My customer service experience was very good.

I admit I'm not a regular since I live on the other side of town, but I have had many friends sing their praises regarding firearm prices.  Their selection of specialty, or niche items as Chris Roma describes them, differentiates them from many of the other local shops in my mind.  If I needed an AR item right now, One Shot is one of the first local sources I'd check.

Lastly, after reading the post from Chris Roma I have to hand it to him for addressing this board as he did.  He's a small businessman who is trying to get it right.

Good luck Chris, I wish you success at One Shot and in your other ventures.  If you and other entrepreneurs keep hiring new employees we'll overcome whatever else Washington throws at us.

Thanks for the info OneShot.

I'm interesting in starting out with my first NFA device (suppressor).  Is there a better time to stop in and talk to someone about that?  I'd like to research the topic before committing funds.   I understand your one of or the top NFA dealer in the area.

Chris Roma and his crew are great guys.

I have no doubt that the employees at One Shot, hired by Chris, are the best available. I have been a customer there since they opened and have never had a bad experience in the shop or at the shows that they attend. In my opinion, based on my experience, they are hands down the best shop in the Cincinnati area. They always seem friendly and very helpful and seem to be very knowledgeable about the items that they stock.

I will never forget Chris Roma letting his customers play with his full auto toys FREE OF CHARGE (including a M249 SAW,MP-5SD, Thompson). All he required was that you provided the ammo. My experiences in the shop and and his generosity with his full auto collection, are why my purchases are made at One Shot.

Please base your opinions on your own experience with One Shot and not those of others.

I've been in One Shot a few times window shopping and never had any problems with the service, it was always a quick "Hey how you doin, can I help you with anything?" and then they leave you alone if you want to browse, kind of what I prefer....

I bought a 1911 from these guys back in 2007.  It was a good experience, and the price was worth the drive from Dayton.  That being said, I wish they'd update their website.   Its borderline useless as is.

Another satisfied customer chiming in!

I've purchased quite a few items and had a few items transferred in and have had good service each time.  I even had a back order for months that they kept me updated on regularly. I miss Jason at the store because he's a nice guy and knowledgeable about the black rifle!

The one time I felt I had an issue was when I was transferring 4 lowers in and didn't feel like paying $40 per lower...so I called and worked out a deal with Chris.  Very satisfied!

My philosophy is that if I look hard enough I can find any item online cheaper than what's advertised in a store (any store).  I also realize that if we don't support local merchants...they go away.  So I make it a point to buy things from OneShot even if I can find them cheaper elsewhere (reasonably speaking 10-15% or so).

I usually buy ammo 10,000 rounds at a time so buying it by the box on the shelf is never going to be economical for me...so I'm anxious to hear more about OneShot Munitions.  I realize not everyone buys ammo that way and ammo can be an expensive part of our hobby (especially recently).

Thanks to Chris and everyone at One Shot gun shop. You to Gail! LOL Once again they went above and beyond to help me out with my latest project 308 rifle. Chris himself took time out of his busy schedule to work on and finalize preparation of my project. All worked out great, the gun has impressed me to no end and One Shot Munitions has supplied me with some awesome match grade ammo which for the price & quality, can't be beat in my book. Stop by the shop and pick some up for yourself and you will see what I mean.

I would like to add a +1 for Oneshot too. I have only been there once myself but I have a friend who lives out that way who is a regular customer and has nothing but praise for those guys. The one time I did stop in I was looking at their suppressor selection and even through I told the salesman I was a KY resident (and there for not buying one that day), he still took his time and talk to me and answer all my questions regarding them. On top of that, he actually knew what he was talking about. Compared to what I'm use to from the typical gunshop\gunshop employee's, this was a really refreshing for me.

Never been there myself (they're a little south of my sphere of influence), but I do think it says something when the owner takes the time to post here and personally own any problems that might arise in his store.

I've dealt with plenty of gun store owners who wouldn't bother to post here, even if they were the subject of discussion.

That says something about the ownership of One Shot, in my book.
