News Release December 10, 2013 Appleton Police SWAT Conducting Citywide Training on Thursday The Appleton Police Department’s SWAT team completes training on a monthly basis. We do not normally announce the training dates or location. Due to the nature of this specific training session, we are advising the public the Appleton Police Department SWAT will be conducting citywide training on Thursday, December 12, 2013. It is more likely the public’s attention may be drawn to those completing the training exercise. On Thursday, from 1:00PM until approximately 5:00PM, members of the Appleton Police Department SWAT will be a various locations around the city. These team members will be in groups of five (5) and will be dressed in cold weather gear. There will be a total of five (5) teams completing this exercise. Each of the teams will be accompanied by a uniformed officer. If you have questions about the training, please contact Captain Freeman at the Appleton Police Department (920)832-5500. Wonder just what type of exercise they are planning? Any Appleton area members looking to do some recon? Could be fun if you donned up in your Tier 1 tacticool gear and covertly joined up with them. See how long it takes before they notice some extra guys in their squad.
