I have a bottle of Makers Mark that I want to take to an event for other people to drink. It is opened. Is there any legal way to transport it (i.e. in the trunk?)
Thanks. |
| The statute prohibits "possession" in a motor vehicle. I think a prosecutor would have a hard time getting a conviction if you had it in the trunk of your car on the way to a party. Practically speaking, unless you were doing something really wrong or stupid, I can't see a situation in which a cop would hassle you about bringing a bottle of liquor to a party in your car. |
