I hope this is just temporary. |
Just like you have to watch what you say when you are drinking beer in the back yard with your buddies Don't be stupid. (like telling your friend how nice his wife looks) Also don't say anything too unpopular around here (like not all cops are great or that maybe we shouldn't be fighting the whole of southwestern Asia - of course thoses aren't MY opinions, just examples of what NOT to say) |
Wow! Hey, I understand about not making "kill em' all" statements as they are just stupid and uneducated, but locking someone's account for that is a little harsh don't you think...... How about remove his post or something. I mean, he is a paying team member. What about that??

My posts here: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=475238&page=4 Don't get me wrong. I generally agree with the statements, expansions and clarifications by the Site Staff on the following 2 pages. We must not loose site that at its heart, this is a firearm website and that should take #1 priority over everything else. We must be responsible courters and protect it or we risk loosing it. Plus, this is Mr. A's house, not ours, so he makes the rules and that is only fair. If he were in my house, he'd respect my rules or he'd be out and that is only fair. If people want to be able to express sentiments that aren't allowed here, there are many other websites that will allow it, or they can even start their own. I just take exception to the "we've never tolerated it" because I've seen it in so many threads before without anything coming of it. That was just one example where in this case, the whole thread, which was allowed to continue for 14 pages, was actually dedicated to the OP advocating genocide. I've seen other, lesser statements in other threads with no penalty enforced. It appears to me the mods, site staff, etc. got a recent kick in the pants to enforce this rule extra vigorously recently. I just hope they are only locking accounts temporarily. A perm ban is not necessary, people have been made an example of and everyone is getting the message. The only time a perm ban is perhaps appropriate is if someone, after having their account locked continues to ignore the rules. |

What about the people advocating the death of everyone in California? They are never punished. You can't be sure how serious they are, but one could say the same about the "genocide towards muslims" comments. I'm really having a hard time understanding why one is OK and the other is not... |

Because everyone likes to take out all their BS on Kali or blame us for everything. It's bad enough that we have to deal with the likes of Frankenswine, then add all the other out of state people. What's funny is on another hometown forum they have posted a no bashing thread, think it also says that those posts will be deleted. The funny thing is when you say something people say "I was just kidding" or "lighten up dude". Where's the smiliey face giving the double finger when you need it?

If you are foolish enough to break the CoC after almost continuous warnings to a variety of people expect to get a 2x4 between the running lights. If you are a newbie and have less than 1000 posts or so, it might be a good idea to go back to read the CoC and some of Ed Avila's specific warnings about what won't be tolerated on his site. This is his site, he makes the rules and he doesn't want this deteriorating into one of the idiot and bigots sites. Violate the rules at your peril. His site, his rules. He is not the Congress, the First Amendment is not applicable. |
OK in fairness - I'VE never tollerated it and have the 110% back of Juan and Ed Sr. Once things get to the locking stage it's time to back down and start following the well published rules. |
You haven't been paying attention if you haven't notice me and a few others lighting into them. Oddly enough things have subsided a bunch from the past. I carefully note each and every violation and have record running back to ... let me check ... Saturday Feburary 11th "City Cops San Franscisco" |
And you're back. I am your avocate and can plead your cases - like I will anyones' - as long as your case has merit. NORMALLY it's just a matter of communicating with the mod/staff member and apologizing or taking ownership or understanding for what you're called on. Rarely has there actually been a misunderstanding that can't be solved with one IM in each direction. Please if you ever feel unjustly treated take it up the chain of command to staff or senior staff. The guys who volunteer here really aren't dickhead (except for me |
DonR was an asshole.

I noticed that you do, but you're the only one that I've seen. People have basically been saying "kill 'em all" about California (especially LA and SF) for a long time, and I don't see them getting banned. It's the same thing to me. |
