Oregon new guy here.

After wanting an AR for a long time, I decided it was high time that I did something about it. Picked up a Bushmaster carbine last month, and also just joined TCGC (not just for the AR, but also for a place to shoot shotguns, the glock, site in the hunting rifle, etc..)

Anyways, I’m having a blast. I’m looking forward to shooting PR sometime, after I refamiliarize myself with an AR, and gain some shooting skills.  It’s been 10 years since I shot an M16 in the National Guard, and I am just being reminded of how foreign the ghost aperture seems to me.

I’ve never shot at Brown’s Camp, usually go up that way to run some of the 4x4 Trails in the Jeep. Also when out that way there are other pits suitable for shooting, not just Brown’s Camp.

Anyway, just saying hello.

Welcome, what kind of jeep do you have?  I got an old 3a (its a long term project, but it runs and drives)

Wally,

It's a YJ I bilt up as a pretty decent trail rig. Nothing extreme, but it did get me through the Rubicon last summer.

Last year all the $$ went into a Jeep. Now that it's built, I'm finding $$ for guns and ammunition.

PR is an awesome place to pick up the skills you seek. Don't wait, don't come to watch and then kick yourself for not participating. GET OUT AND DO IT.

Hope to see ya around or at PR. Where ya at?

I live in Tigard, so tcgc is close. I'll be doing PR soon, not the sniper match coming up, but maybe next year. I'll probably venture to PR here before too long, just look for the guy who can't hit crap. Like I said,  a lot to learn.

I was at TCGC this weekend, and realized what a pain it is to adjust the front post without a tool. In the guard we used a fmj or a nail; none of the rounds in my bag were sharp enough to make the adjustment, but I did have some in the car which did the trick. But hey, I'm on paper now at 50 and 100.
