i actually just got through dealing with this bullshit. did he call the customer service number? i had to call that number repeatedly until i got through to someone. if he calls within 48hrs of his travel date they will expedite/overnight his passport to him. thats what they did for me.

There are also "consulting" services that will do this (for a fee) - usually used by corporate travel departments to expedite last minute travel requirements, etc.

Call your congressman. Thats the only time mine has ever done anything for me personally. Give them a heads up on your dilema and he/she office can push it through.

Wow.  Must be getting worse.  They wife, daughter and I went went to the post office in Plano in December and passports showed up in the mail in less than the six weeks they told us to expect.

This works.  A friend of mine called her U.S. Senator then the thing magically appeared the next day via FedEx.

Remember, money talks and BS walks. Use an expediting service, pay the fee and you will have your passport in 2-5 days depending on how much you pay. Got mine in 3 days.

Did the interview at the Post office at Highway 6 and I-10 and paid the government the expediting fee (note: not a private expediting service) and had mine and my four family members back in 9 days.
