Does anyone know when the Taurus PT1911 will be approved by State police?  I didn't see anything on the approved list.  I want to get one of this for my Christmas present.

Already for sale in Md. A Bishopville dealer has/had one. He had to wait six months for it  because Taurus was selling them  so fast they didn't have time for the casings. Nice .45 and no plastic parts that I could see.  Great price also.

What's considers as a good price?  I was at the VA show, saw a couple PT1911 around $550.   However, some members reported getting ones below $500.

I'll bet if it's a Taurus it's a nice pistol too. I was looking at a different brand, my dealer showed me a Rock Island 1911 he was selling for around 350, there are some nice 1911's out there right now you don't need to spend an arm and a leg for.
