The Republican field this time around is sad. 2012 should be the easiest election ever for the Right. If these 'tards are all we can get, it'll be the easiest ever for the left.

any of those tards is better than the present one. I've got it narrowed down to two of the current entries...

Ideals aside, Romney's record is more liberal than Obama.  If we have to have a big government liberal socialist (as they both are) I think its better that it be Obama since the Dems will get blamed for it.

Yeah, I'm less than impressed so far... Newt? Come on...

At least Huckabee says he'll sit this one out... The sad thing is, he looks good compared to some of the contenders.

At this point in time we just need someone who will beat ZERO.  Of course the real problem is STILL with the Republican Party leadership.  And the media of course.

Herman Cain?  The one thing I'm not sure about him is his ties to the banking industry.

Just a rhetorical question - who would you like to see run that can actually win (ie not your neighbor Steve)

Him or Bachmann are the two I lean towards. Wait, I thought conservative meant racist and sexist . . .

The "can actually win" thing isn't a consideration.  18 months prior to their wins, Clinton and Obama couldn't win either.

Yes it is. They had a statistical chance and were a governor and a senator.

Let me guess. Only Mitt Romney can win. After all, he's the big republican right?

Both are too liberal, and Newt lies about it.  RP, is, and thank God, will remain nothing. Gary Johnson isn't going anywhere. Cain could destroy Ubama in the debates but he worked for the fed and that pisses a lotta people off. And he's a fairtaxer.

Bachmann aint bad. But she turns off social libertarians.

John Huntsman is as liberal as Romney. Tpaw and Santorum have issues too.

I don't know much about Mitch Daniels, but I see another FDT situation.

Lt Col Allen West.

I hope that Tim Griffin has a real challenger next year. A real conservative this time.

You guys have to realize that to be elected, you have to appeal to a broad array of citizens.  Most of the people elected are going to be moderately conservative or moderately liberal.  Of course, there are people in elected office that are more extreme than moderate.  It would be nice if everyone shared OUR views, but that is not how it works.  I am sure that within this group of people alone, there would be disagreements in how things should be done, even though we share a lot of similar ideas.

To me, Ron Paul is the most conservative of all of the candidates.  Not saying I would vote for him or not, there is still a lot to be decided.  The most viable candidate will reveal him or herself through the process and when it comes time to vote, I will decide who best fits my views.

Ron Paul isn't a conservative. He claims to be, buts he's not. He preaches toe constitution until he wants to work outside it. Nowhere in the constitution does it ok giving tax dollars to private companies, but he does it. He's one of the biggest spenders in the republican party.

He is on the record as stating he wouldn't have gotten UBL.

He is on the record as stating he wants to cut the military by 80%.

He is on the record as being against the military being used to defend our southern border.

He has stated the known lie that EIPs weren't used to get intel that lead to getting UBL.

He voted against extending all the Bush tax cuts.

You can't be a conservative and a pussy, and RP is a pussy. RP is a big spender, and he's run at the head of another political party. He's no conservative.

He was also just endorsed by code pink for his anti war and anti aid to Israel stances.
