From the length of the quarrel / arrow, it would have to be a bow...

Yeah, you're right looking at that. It would've had to have been a bloody big crossbow!

Most people are seriously suprised at the penetration power of a bow.

I used to shoot with a 65lb Kodiak many moons ago… Out of interest I fired a 32" alloy shaft with a bullet point at a sheet of 3/4 ply in front of my Dads garage door…

It went through the ply, zipped straight throught the 1" pine back doors without slowing down overly… we found it about 50 yrds futher down the service road… he wasn't very happy with me.

Back in Robin Hoods day, the test of a good bow was that it could fire a 'cloth yard' arrow through a 4" thick oak door by at least the depth of a mans fist. Mind you, they were seriously heavy draw weight bows and seriously strong professional archers with upper bodies like the Hulks!.

Here it is.

Nothing really special, but nice none the less.
Bought it in Cabela's for $360 ish.
I've always fancied a bow and took the opportunity while in AZ.
This is a "starter kit" that comes with the bow, quiver and 6 carbon arrows.
The heads are just points.
I need to get some more arrows as I've broken a couple

I also bought some Mad heads for looks. they have absolutely no purpose in the UK but look mean

One of the reasons I finally bought it was because of BA's new luggage policy.
With the advent of Terminal 5, they're automating everything and have dropped the Intl weight limit from 2x 32kg to 2x 23kg, but will allow an extra item of sporting goods to travel for free.

We'd ordered some Pelican rifle cases while in America and I thought it wise to put an item of sporting goods inside mine.

Needn't have bothered though. What with all the other stuff we brought back
