I am thinking of buying a pack from them, anybody had any dealings with them in the past? I haven't ever heard of them (not that that means anything) and just thought I would ask

No experience with Phoenix tactical but their prices put them in line with other high end providers you should also consider like diamondback tactical and tactical tailor.

OK, update:

I just ordered a 3 day pack in multicam, which comes with a free tactical cap (which is added automatically) and free shipping. my roommate wanted a hat as well, so i put an additional one in my shopping cart.

Within minutes of my placing the order, i got an email from someone there pointing out I had added an item that was already free, and that they, assuming i only wanted one and misunderstood how it was supposed to work, credited my card back for the 12 dollars or whatever it was for the second hat. I thought this was a bit presumptuous, but not so bad.

I responded to their email, explaining that I understood the free hat but that I wanted an additional one as well. They responded apologizing for jumping the gun, saying that they had already credited my card with the value of the hat, but that they would just throw in the second hat to make up for the mix-up, and hoped to see me back as a repeat customer.

I got another email update a little after that explaining that the pack I ordered was actually out of stock until the 26th, which is when it will be shipped, that they were still catching up after Christmas but that they were sorry for the delay.

All in all, I am satisfied so far. I get the idea they are not a huge or too terribly sophisticated operation, since they had to hear from the warehouse about the item being out of stock rather than the computer keeping track of that, but for this sort of thing, I value the personal attention to matters that they have put into it. I have dealt with a Mr. Rod Schaefer there, and really appreciate the way this has gone so far. Will update when the bag comes for final review, but so far I have been pleased.

I know its just a bag and a pair of caps, but for a small business, I know first hand how valuable and appreciated good feedback is. Not perfect, but who is? I don't know if there is anyone from Phoenix on ARFCOM, but so far I'd say they deserve some of your attention.

That is all.

you know I think air soft atlanta has the condor bags in stock and much cheaper.  I didn't see a 3 day bag from phoenix so I assume it's the condor bag. the condor is a knock off of the camelback.  CTD also sells a knock off of the knock off for cheaper than that too :)

Friends don't let friend's buy knock-off shit at CTD.  That crap WILL fall apart if you actually use it.

I learned a long time ago to "buy once, cry once" on gear.  I couldn't afford to keep replacing the crappy knock-off bags.

YMMV

Yeah....seriously. Avoid that "modgear" stuff. Though I can attest it's good for the money..........I have to warn you that it's good for the money.

not all of us can afford Eagle stuff!  I have almost 100 miles backpacking on my CTD knock off!

OK, I think one or more of you were interested in a follow-up on these people.

My order was placed on the 21st of January, one item I ordered was supposedly out of stock til the 23rd, and it ultimately shipped on the 29th. Got here yesterday from CA, so not too bad shipping time. As far as the quality of the pack I got, it seemed to be gtg, but really the only way to tell is time and use.

If you are thinking of ordering something from them, and the price is right, I would call out there first. Their website doesn't seem to automatically update itself when they go out of stock with any kind of inventory management software, but on the phone and email, to me, they seemed to be decent people who are making an effort.

So I'd say call to make sure they have what it is you want and then order so you don't end up waiting longer than you otherwise might've wanted to, but they got my order right and got it to me.

Ungh... not so sure about their gear, its Condor. But if you're happy with it and don't expect it to be bombproof then you'll be happy. If you're expecting Eagle, Diamonback, Camelbak, HSGI, TT, style quality you'll be mistaken.

It looks cheap but sometimes that's what we're looking for. Good luck
