| Anyone with experice with this near Marietta GA? I can do the drilling and setup I just need someone to weld it for me. |
| I've done a few dozen of them. But i'm not sure when I could get to it. I'd have to pick up the upper from you one night and drop it back off to you the next night, as I work in Roswell and live in Dallas. but I'll do it for free. I've done them for a couple of the local Arfcommers. |

You don't have to use the pin, but the silver solder method has to be "High Temperature Silver Solder" that melts at 1100 degrees F. Not jewelry grade silver solder. The only other method the ATF accepts other than silver solder, and blind pin (with pin coverd by weld), is steel seem welding.
I would rather use the pin than have to worry about finding someone who can do high temp silver soldering to NFA standards. God forbid you are ever in a bind and they test yours and it doesn't pass (they make the rules), it is still prison time. You don't get an A for effort with the ATF. It is either correct, or illegal. Do you have to weld the pin? Or can you use silver solder? My mom makes jewelry my soldering silver with this gas torch thing, so I was thinking of trying it myself unless it has to be welded. |

I was thinking of using that and some sort of solder paste such as this http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=6647/Product/STL-1205-SILVER-BRAZE |
