There's really only two small negatives about the range.  First if it rains and the road is wet or possiblely wet they close the road. It is atleast a mile back there to the range. It is closed often .Second is the way the range is set up. If you want to shoot at 200 and someone is already there shooting at 100 then your shooting 100 yds or waiting it out.  I got to the chain to cross into the range field and had to wait a good while  for the vollies of rifle fire to stop till I could make contact with the guy shooting at 200 yds. It's a hole in the wall type of range. Private and watched, but haven't had any problems with anyone. Everybody I met has been cool.  Keep a good head and  use good range safety and you'll have no problems with anyone. It's a police your self range. It get tiresome of the range rd being closed but atleast it's close by. , Cheers WarDawg

I don't think it's all that bad for $40.00/year.

Agreed Josh.  It's not bad for $40. Now if it was $100 , I would really have to hook up with Glock 23 and get into his watering hole.  It just sucks when the range is REALLY closed due to the Rd. Who the heck is walking a a mile plus to shoot . Die hards I guess. Lats fall I had to wiat at least a month for the range to open becasuse of the rds. I was going through serious withdrawls..... ....  Welcome aboard... WarDawg

.. I think it's just fine considering it's only 4 miles from my door here in Pinnacle.! he.. I came and checked out a little High Power match at Yadkin.. That looks to be a hoot so I'm geared up and ready to play.. The Benchrest game (main thing at the Rock, rifle side) is a little pricey if ya wanna be competitive.. .. See you guys around..       d:^)        Jake

Meg,
Glad to see you joined the boards.  Were you the guy shooting & reloading at the range one Saturday evening about a month ago?

Heyyy... I was wonderin' what had happened with that.!!

.. As far as I know they already have a monthly High Power match.. That oughtta be a hoot if I can get the final few things ready for that..

.. I've wanted to do some sort of get together at my hunt club for a few years now but I don't know what the heck we'd do.. There's lotsa terrain down there and the military guys seem to have fun training on the other side of the mountain.. It's a hoot to go watch the drops and that great "wake up call" they get every year..

.. I don't know if the club oscifers'd let it happen on any kindof scale tho'..  Ya never know till ya ask I reckon..        Jake
