I played at the range today and shot groups of 6 different 62 and 68 gr loads, and 2 55 gr loads. all the 62 grain 855 loads and the 3 68 gr match loads had the same 50 yards point of impact. The 55 gr of course did not, but what is strange is the elevation was the same but both 55 gr loads shot 2" to the left. I would have expected elevation to be different but it was not. And was it just coincidental that both 55 gr loads shot left? They were black hills 55 and Rem 55 psp. I shot them out of a 20" scoped bushy from a solid rest. Side note: The 3 68 gr match loads were Black Hills...always accurate for me, Fed match that of course was the tightest, and a new surprise I bought from the Houston show this weekend. It was a load from Collins Cartridge out of Conroe. Better groups than the Black Hills and only $6.25 a box/$135 for 500. In talking to him at the show he said he was using new primed Win brass. ...Anybody else try any? I was so impressed with them that I have already left him a msg asking for more. |
Interesting read, but what does it have to do with the question? fullclip |
