We had a porch pirate steal $1200 of stuff from our porch. We made a police report. We have: Multiple camera angles of the theif Multiple camera angles of the car The license plate number The VIN of the vehicle - make, model, year, color, engine, trans, drivetrain, etc We know the plate isn't stolen, the plate comes back to their car And CSPD won't answer our calls or get back to us. The thief also stole $500+ from the neighbor and we have that on camera too. Is there anything we can do? Under $2k so nobody cares? |

Well I haven't been able to get a name or address of the registered vehicle, but the police could find that information easily. I hate thieves. ETA: Cop called back, said he found the vehicle registered in the city we live in, so he's going to go have a chat with the owner, big shocker - not the criminals driving around stealing. |

Post the tag, VIN, and photos of the thieves on reddit. You'll have their names and addresses within 2 hours. If the cops don't want to help, then obviously it's up to you to resolve it. |

Cop visited the lady. Goes something like this. Lady: I sold the 4runner to my crackhead son Crackhead son: I sold the 4runner to (known criminal) Known criminal: not the one who robbed us Still has old lady plates on it. No registration, no insurance |

Didn't I just read that almost all of them have default credentials and you can literally log into them and run your own query. I bet you can track that vehicle right to that lady's house. The lady doesn't have it. They were able to see the vehicle on Flock cameras but due to the weird chain of custody for the 4runner they don't know where it is now. |
