Need info from those in the know.
Fort Leavenworth and surrounding areas. Pros/Cons of living on the KS/MO side of the river. Would like to know about the immediate area and average rents/utilities costs. I read through the NFA tacked thread and have a few questions. 1. It mentions registration in KS, does KS have a registration for NFA items? Handguns? anything else? 2. Are all NFA items okay in KS or only certain ones (SBR=okay, suppressor=no go)? Lastly need to know about shopping, food, etc for the local area. I am assuming that most folks head to KCK to do major purchases etc. Thanks for all the help. |
| It is about 30 min from KC. Most will agree property tax will be cheaper in MO. KS just dropped the income tax rate that will go into effect in July. Gas is usually a dime cheaper on the MO side. You pay about half as much sales tax on food on the MO side. Utilities and rent will vary, so I have no input. No registration for NFA items as far as the state is concerned for KS. Only need the .gov stuff. All NFA is a go in KS as well. No restrictions for other firearms, no high capacity bans, etc..... CCW is GTG, just pay attention to legal signage for gunbusters. Open carry is good for the state but there is NO pre-emption, so municipalities can ban open carry. I think Happy Hours may be coming back at the bars in KS. Some places don't sell booze on Sundays. If you live in the KC metro check back for better parts to move into. |
