I do not see any way at all how it could be insulting...but, if it insulted you I am sorry. I am not shouting (shouting is usually in CAPITALS). What I am doing is "stressing a point" so that they don't get multiple calls / info requests from people that are not able to compete. Also it is a known fact that most people do not completely read and entire thread and I wanted to make sure that the point was clear. Now, your enlarged / bold / and colored tag on the bottom of your reply is indeed silly and possibly insulting. Compare the two...mine does not look that bad!!! Quoted:

Here lets make it even bigger, so you can shout at everyone and let them know its for LEO's only . next time take a more professional way to get your message out.. your bold tag at the bottom is insulting... I guess what got lost in the translation is. the AR15 Ohio forum is pretty close bunch of people as you may know...and it just seems IMO a bit insulting / arrogant in a way with the last line in your post. The divide from Law enforcement and Joe citizen is widening we need less of the us against them mentality that a lot of but not all LEO's have. Most of us can read and 99.9% of us can comprehend it is for LEO's only from just the base text... And you will still get calls like you said from ones that don't read the entire post.. I could understand that last line if it was in the general forums.. your apology shows your professionalism.. SO are you saying my text was like warring a striped shirt with plaid pants? so now you have something against striped shirts |

I'll second that. Quoted:

Too bad it is law enforcement only as I am sure you could make a lot of money for your charity if you let everyone shoot. A little friendly competition never hurt anybody. I'll second that. I am usually against anything LEO only, but I'll defend this match. It started as a fund raiser for Andrew Dunn's family. Andrew Dunn was a Sandusky LEO killed on duty. The proceeds now go to a state wide fund for fallen LEO's. I don't know why ECCL decided to make it LEO only initially. But, it has turned out to be a great way to introduce LEO to 3 Gun. I would bet +90% of the LEO who shoot this match would never have otherwise shot in a 3 gun match. It has been a great way to introduce mostly young LEO's to the sport. We had one team of young coast guards shoot the last two years. It was an eye opening experience for them (in a positive way). If this match was just a 3 gun match like many other fine matches in the state, the normal 3 gun shooters would show up, lots money would be made, but a very large portion of the north central OH LEO's would never be exposed to 3 gun. Once again, I normally have your sentiments about LEO only stuff, but this match serves a very good purpose. |

Another positive outcome is the LEO's get to run and gun their firearms in a way they would never otherwise.

| If the goal is to make money for a law enforcement charity why not have a law enforcement division and a civilian division? Any major match has a special division for law enforcement officers. I don't think anyone is pissing on the thread they are just offering suggestions on how to make more money for your charity. And if you are worried about overcrowding just have a set limit of shooters for each division with an early registration requirement. |

OK look you cant seem to grasp what I am saying... I could give shit if it is a LEO event that's not what I was after.... it was the last line in bold basically saying fuck off!
What it could have said for example was something like "due to event restrictions this is a LEO only event " or "we are sorry but this is a LEO only event" Are you starting see what I am saying... This is for Law enforcement only! do you see the diff... you are posting in a public forum were most all are Joe civilian. I don't think I can say it much plainer.. And I wish you all the luck with the event I'm sorry you don't get what I am trying to convey |

I see what you are saying and I get what you are saying I just can't believe how this can insult you. If I were to see something like this I would just move on. I just don’t understand your reaction. I believe what you wrote back is insulting and rude. And the fact that you enlarged and turned my post red is just ridiculous and was done in very bad taste. If what I posted was insulting it was done on accident and with no intent to insult but what you did was purposely done to insult me and to be rude…but you are the one that keeps talking about being rude (what a joke). Again my intent was to post a friendly notice to any Ohio LEO’s that may be on this forum and you turned it into a cry fest. So please stop acting like a spoiled 5 y/o and delete your insulting post and stay off this thread if it’s so insulting to you. Oh Brother you are a gem.... |

If that sentence insulted you (and obviously hurt your feelings) it's a good thing you're not a cop. ETA: part of the reason it's LE only may be because there are so many cops that want to shoot it, they simply can't fit anymore competitors. |

ETA: part of the reason it's LE only may be because there are so many cops that want to shoot it, they simply can't fit anymore competitors. Does it even really matter? They came up with a rule for their match, and the OP relayed it in a way that would prevent confusion (which is hard to do these days). The majority of the users here harp on others for being too sensitive, and politically correct. There is thread after thread about how the country is going in the shitter because we can't dare offend anyone. Yet, here we are, bickering over words - not what was said, but how. It seems the contention has been settled, anyway. Besides, everyone knows cops can't shoot. Making it cop-only is probably safer for everyone, including pets. That being said, if I can get the day off, I'll try to make it to the match. Are there any equipment restrictions? I might have missed it, but I don't remember seeing specifics. |
