STAY OUT! For your Mothers sake!

We have a gay governor and his replacement will probably be much worse.

I dont think that you can bring it, but I'm not sure.

If it's an AR and it says AR15 anywhere on it then the answer is NO.

As I understand the laws in NJ, a semi auto rifle with detachable magazine can only have one of the following features...

a pistol grip or
a flash hider/threaded barrel or
a collapsible stock.

In other words an AR15 must be in a post ban configuration and can NOT say AR15 on the receiver.

Yes, there is no such thing as a pre-ban in NJ. There is no legal way to own it. Post bans are fine.

You can apply for a permit in Superior Court to possess an "assault rifle." Its is spelled out in 2C (NJ criminal code). Probably not worth the effort.

I heard that there was a time that you could register your pre-ban "assault" rifle and hicap mags and keep them. (the 1990 NJ assault rifle ban was the test tube baby for the federal 1994 crime bill.)

Any "assault firearm" which was not owned prior to May 1, 1990, must be licensed. Application is made to the Superior Court for the county in which the person lives or conducts business. The fee is $75. The court must find that the public safety and welfare require the issuance of the license and the person must be qualified to obtain a handgun carrying license. For practical purposes, no one will be issued such a license

They make you apply, charge you and tell you NO.

That's NJ

does the fact that my future governor is a fagellah change any of this this?

You can bring in the rifle provided it meets two conditions -

1)  You remove the preban features - no lug, no flash suppressor, no threads and/or perm attached brake, no collapsable stock.  Basically, make it post-ban compliant.

2)  It is not a Colt AR-15.  Any other model name/number is fine, NO AR-15!

if it has AR15 on the receiver its illegal
if it doesnt its legal
as far as preban/postban  just take the upper off and its legal
or get a Bushhmaster XM15
if you want a preban AR upper your allowed to own it but you can not put it on

so as long as it doesn't say AR15, it's kosher???  like a bushy or aloy, etc....?
