I need some help pricing a couple of ARs I'd like to sell.  I've been collecting Garands for a few years, so I've been away from the black rifles.  I took all my spare receivers and parts to Tony's Custom Uppers when he was at the Fredericksburg show and ended up with three more rifles!  One will go to #1 Son (M4 clone), but the wife made it clear 2 have to go.

1.  Pre-ban PWA (upper and lower) A2 HBAR with a FN (military contract) full HBAR barrel. I was thinking of asking $750.

2.  Bushmaster lower and generic A2 upper, HBAR with a FN heavy barrel (from Fulton Armory) that is contoured under the handguards to save weight. I was thinking of asking $650.

I believe each has a BCG with firing pin shroud versus the normal AR15 bolt.   I'm not looking to get rich off these, just get the wife off my back.  Any help determining value would be appreciated.

You could always list them on the EE for $100 more than you mention now, and drop the price every 3 days until they sell?

I haven't purchased too many whole rifles (I forgot that you can buy more than just parts!  lol), so I can't help you too much other than to say the prices you quote don't seem out of line.

Appreciate the advice.  I'd prefer a FTF in No VA to avoid the hassles of dealing with FFLs - I guess that begs another question of if I'd get jammed up for trying to sell to a VA resident?

as long as the person is old enough to own the gun can legally own the gun, and has id i would get a "contract" that states just that and have the buyer sign it. that would prevent any problems on your end.

That's what I've done with all the FTF sales I made. Just made up a little statement that recorded the serial # and the buyer's address. Check their DL and had them sign it and I signed it. They got a copy as did I; that way they could prove they bought it and I could prove I sold it. The statement also had a blurb on there to the effect that the buyer wasn't a prohibited person, etc.

It's always easier to lower your price then raise it.
