I bought an AR15 for my birthday at a Turners in CA, 2 years later its banned. I didn't bother trying to register until the last couple days of the deadline and the police station refused to fingerprint my reg. card. So it never got registered, instead I took it to AZ and left it with my parents. Now... I've seen this prince 50 kit and I hear I can have all the evil stuff (bayo/threaded barrel) as long as the magazine I lock into the well is 10 rounds only, is this correct? So with the prince 50 installed, I could legally bring my AR15 back into CA? I just want to double check with people who have this device installed already and if its all true. Also, I may have been out of the loop awhile, but what does "OLL" stand for? |
| To bring your rifle into California, your lower receiver cannot be prohibited by name (see the "List of Prohibited Models" in the primer Paul tacked at the top of CA HTF). Using the Prince 50 kit turns an Off List Lower (OLL - those rifles not on the "List of Prohibited Models") into a fixed magazine rifle. Once the 10 round magazine is fixed, it no longer meets the California definition of assault rifle. |
| Just to add more to the confusion, Evan's gun smithing has recieved permission to fix the magazines on listed rifles and sells them for 10 time whatthey are worth, maybe one day the list thing will go away and you will get to bring your rifle back home....what make and model is your rifle? |
Why do I cringe everytime I see or hear his name? |

The armalite m15 is listed so, no go unless registered. Check out these links: www.calguns.net/copmemo2.pdf calguns.net/a_california_arak.htm This will give you the lowdown on CA legalities. |
Well, heres an excuse to build a second AR and start rebuilding my decimated collection since my marriage/divorce. ![]() I think I might buy a Sundevil rec next time I'm in AZ. I don't think I see it on the list. |
