As not to color the discussion with FanBoy impassioned opinion, I'll leave the company name out, but I'm looking to see what the HiveMind® thinks: I placed the order on 2/7/2010: On 2/24 I sent the following: To Whom it May Concern: The response:
Hi, Right now our M4 chrome lined 1x9 twist barrels are on back order. We do have more coming, but they are 3-4 weeks out. We do have some of the chrome moly barrels, and the chrome lined 1x7 twist barrels in stock. I'm not sure if you'd be interested in switching to either one of those. If not, we'll hold your order until those barrels come in or we hear from you. We do apologize for the delay. Please let us know if you have any questions. Okay, very reasonable...I'll sit and wait. Sent another e-mail on 3/19 Any word as to when the 1X9 chrome lined Bbl's are coming in? Still about 2 weeks out or so? If so, I'd just as soon wait.. The Response: We did get some chrome lined barrels in finally, but in the meantime >Edit< milspec stocks have gone out of stock. We do have the commercial >Edit< style, if you would like to switch to this option. If you have any questions about the differences, let me know, but it may be a couple of weeks before we are sent these from >Edit<. I regret the inconvenience, but inventory levels are fluctuating pretty rapidly from day to day even. If you switch to this model, we should be able to begin building it up right away. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. OK...shit happens, but I reserve the right to not be happy about it. Reply sent: After some careful consideration, I'd rather wait, as the components I ordered are the specs I want to stay with. In the meantime, would it be possible to start laying aside/building my order, and simply add the stock in when it arrives, rather waiting for it to arrive and something else goes out of stock? I've been back from Iraq about 3 1/2 months when I placed the order, and I was really hoping to have been out shooting my new build sooner than this. Please let me know if my order is going to be able to be filled and shipped within the next two weeks, as this has drug on long enough. The response: I honestly do not believe anything else will go out of stock, but I am not sure just how much longer the mil spec stock kits will be out. They may come in within a week or two, but lately it is taking about a week to get a work order back from the armorers once we submit it for building. We cannot do this until all of the parts are in. It is sure our desire to get kits out as quickly as possible. Being that we do not charge our customers until their order is ready to be built and shipped it provides us excellent motivation to fill them as fast as we can, but in the past year and a half, AR parts have been in extremely high demand and this has caused a backlog and some parts at times. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. OK....deep breathing....try to....fuggit. This morning I sent: Keeping in mind that I am an EBR guy, am a military trained Armorer, have been a "gun guy" for over 20 years, I have followed trends, ect on sites such as AR15.com, and that I'm completely aware of the situation my CINC, Obama created I'm following the guidance from your website- >Edited- website specifies 3-4 week until shipping.< We're at 8 weeks now, and I'm frustrated, that's all. I've been waiting to do this since Spring of LAST year. You're absolutely right in regards to when my card gets charged, anything else would would make you folks just like >Edited-A less than lackluster, pointy eared, supplier<. Please keep me advised as to lead time and any other impediments to my order getting filled. SO....... A) Cancel the order. B) Cancel the order and go with___________. C) Stick it out, they're trying. D) ........? |

A.) Cancel the order.
Really, eight weeks in and they still tell you to STFU and wait? There's plenty of businesses out there working to get your money these days just sitting and waiting for someone to make an order. You've stuck to your guns so far and been patient but unless there's another reason to stick with it that we don't know, I'd say you've done more than enough. just my .02 though |

Here's the response. Thanks for your understanding. I totally share in your frustration. Nothing makes me happier than shipping out a load of orders and seeing these stacks diminish. I wish they would have changed the notice on the sight earlier and to a more accurate time line. I was begging the administrative people to do this for a week or so beforehand. In January, we were printing off orders throughout the day to have something to do and kits were shipping in 2-3 days. By the end of that month things started going crazy and this past February was our highest volume month we have ever had, even higher than any from last year which was the previous peak. I guess we will be a very well armed nation when all is said and done. We are a very small company, much smaller than most people realize (that is why they are suprised when they get me on the phone repeatedly) and we have doubled the size of our company twice now since the fall of 2008. Growing pains, I guess. We will do all we can to get this out to you ASAP. That being said, feel free to email or call to check back whenever you would like...I would want to know the status of my order as well. |

Hey, shit happens. This doesn't mean you have to wait 8+ weeks....How badly do you want the M4gery? More accurately––how badly do you want the M4gery from this company?
What made you order from these guys in the first place? Price, quality....? If you can get the specs you want from another company, do it. An M4gery with "X" specs from company A is the same as an M4gery with "X" specs from company B. |

Del-Ton? That's what I suspected from the beginning. Double X-Ring. Ya, had problems with them as well.....charged me 6lbs shipping for a 1lb package(yes I checked)..14.95 s&h and took 2.5weeks to get here...I will be looking elsewhere in the future....after they said 5 days to hit the step.. |

Cancel Order Via BCM, PKFirearms, Del-Ton, Global Tactical or Rainier Arms (=5) and don't look back. (1)One of these is the company in question. (2)Raineir can't match the pricepoint, and I have no experiance with two (3+4) of the others. -1 ![]()
FUZZY MATH... Now we have the math nazis |

I have an order standing with Del-Ton that I placed 14 months ago. I ordered two kits. You don't care about the rest of my bitching about the $46 shipping charge for the one kit they sent.
I doubt that the A1 upper kit will ever deliver. I was surprised that they listed it. I'm not surprised they don't deliver it. |

Quoted: Facts? Do they really matter? I think it's bourbon time. Facts matter, but surely not nearly as much as you don't. Since you're looking, I'll let you have two for free. Drunk posting is no excuse for douchebaggery. You need to take your troll antics somewhere else. Tweak...very good math skills. What's your point? That I didn't enumerate that I recall hearing something negative associated with Global Tactical, but since I could not confirm or deny, I didn't feel it necessary to elaborate further? "Nice" detective work. ![]() |
