A friend called me about how to recover an impounded vehicle. Her daughter got busted driving her mom's car with a suspended license. What does she need to do to get her car back. This happened in Gwinnett Co.

Thanks,
Chris

Usually just ID and proof of ownership.

Title, car insurance or the like.

Also bring CASH.  I had some rental cars that ended up in impound lots in MIA and they would not even take credit cards.  I'd call ahead and find out what their policy is and get the amount you owe.

Where was it impounded? The Southside and Central Precinct areas use Statewide out of Lilburn and Westside and Eastside use Lance. They are both pretty good and take cash or credit. Northside Precinct uses Willards and I have no idea how they operate.

If it hasn't been impounded because of suspended/cancelled/expired registration or no insurance, then all your friend should need to pick it up is a valid license and money. The registered owners (as well as the drivers) information is already on the impound sheet, so she shouldn't need anything to show proof of ownership other than a valid state issued ID.
