Hey all, I'll be moving to the Denver area shortly. I'm interested in knowing more about the local communities. Does anyone have any info on where to look and where not to look for a home. Any gouge would be greatly appreciated. I would like the area to be near Denver. Preferably on the eastern side closer to Denver International Airport.

Thanks

If I was living east of Denver I would look in Bennett.  At least you are away from 500,000+ people.

I have seen some decent homes for sale out there.

don't go to Montbello or Commerce city... Aurora is probably one of those to add to the list of "don't go there" (it's not that bad, in all fairness)

I live in Evergreen but if I were looking out east I would look at the Parker area.

North of DIA might be your best bet. I agree Commerce City is bad. Aurora has good sections, but things could go south fast.

I live in Stapleton and it was rated one of the four new best communities in the US due to the novel planning.  Depending on your price range it is definitely a place to check out and it is only 15-20 min from DIA.  Also, just under an hour to a 1000 yd range.  Let me know if you have any further questions.

I live in the southeast part of Aurora. It is all new and very nice. It's a pretty quick drive to DIA.
Also, you may check out Reunion. It's up in the NE part of the burbs. Everything up there is new as well.
