| I have read several times on here that according to the NYS AWB that a magazine that is not dated is considered preban, Any truth to this? Can someone provide what the requirements for proving that a mag is pre ban? |
| Not all mags are dated, but if its a mag for a weapon that clearly identifiable as being a post ban era product, it'll be hard for you to say that its legal under the AWB. There are also mags like Glock mags that have clearly identifiable generations of magazines. |

Can someone provide what the requirements for proving that a mag is pre ban? The only requirement that NYS says is an actual requirement for a magazine to be considered preban is that it was manufactured prior to Sept. 13th, 1994. Here's the three ways to determine a preban AR mag. http://nyshooters.net/forum/showthread.php?364-AR-15-Preban-Magazine-Identification-Guide |

Thanks. I'm more interested in other less common mags. Steyr AUG, P90. Obviously is i have a mag marked MSAR then that wouldn't fly. As far as Iv been able to find there is no really differance in the mag body for these 2 weapons. So how would I prove preban? I've always wanted a p90 but the preban mag thing has always stopped me from buying one. I would be interested in that also. |

There are SOME preban P90 and AUG mags out there they just bring a premium is all. |
